Looking Back at 2023

It was a year for the record books!

2023 was a year for the record books. The weather dominated headlines, with records broken for heat, regional rainfall, and severe storm damage. 

At Sensible, it was also a record-breaking year. We saw consumer demand rise as we added new partners and verticals, with over 60,000 Weather Guarantee's sold, and partner volume surpassing 3,500 businesses. We partnered with some of the biggest names in camping, golf, hospitality, and skiing, and were thrilled to receive a strategic investment from Amex Ventures to fuel our growth.

We are watching the 2024 forecast closely, and are focused on delivering the most innovative solution to the challenges that weather creates for consumers and businesses.

Here is a look at some of our biggest milestones of 2023:

January:

We kicked off the year with our partnership with PGA of America to bring Weather Guarantees to PGA facilities across the country.

February:

Sensible was listed among the key 2023 hospitality trends in Hospitality.net, and joined Campspot's Accelerator program to boost revenue for private campgrounds.

March:

Bloomberg featured Sensible as a benefit for travelers, businesses, and booking platforms who are looking to mitigate the risks of unpredictable weather.

April:

Travel + Leisure covered our launch of Weather Guarantees at the Renwick Hotel, Our CEO, Nick Cavanagh, was featured in Entrepreneur, and Thrillest broke down the benefits of the Weather Guarantee for savvy travelers. Plus, we launched our Guarantee Widget to make it even easier for partners to offer Weather Guarantees

May:

We partnered with AZDS Interactive Group to bring Weather Guarantees to hotels using RevRaise. Plus, Sensible was recognized among 18 others to win the inaugural Travel Tech Titans Award, and among 9 companies to win the Netguru revolutionary fintech companies in 2023!

June:

We partnered with the French ski resort, Val Cenis, bringing Weather Guarantees to skiers in Europe.

July:

We partnered with Campspot to improve the way campers experience the outdoors, and with Lovat Parks to bring our coverage across the pond 🇬🇧.

August:

We announced our plans to expand coverage to include Heat on the heels on the hottest month on record, and hosted our first Webinar with IAPPA.

September:

We announced our strategic investment by Amex Ventures, helping us advance our mission of empowering people to confidently get out and experience the world around them, no matter the weather. Plus, we partnered with TUI First Choice to bring Weather Guarantees to their customers alongside their brand relaunch.

October:

Sensible received fantastic coverage of our Weather Guarantee in Reuters, and went live across 23 courses in partnership with Founders Group International, True Blue Golf Club, Caledonia Fish & Golf Club, and Tee Time Central.

November

Became a recommended partner in Preferred Hotels & Resorts’ Alliance Partner Program.
